financial infidelity and marriage
Anyone have positive feedback about marriage/couples counseling??

My husband finally agreed to marriage counseling after the mother of all fights the other night. We have only been married a year, and have a nine month old baby. We have been together for 6 years total. I am 28 he is 30. We have financial stress constantly and I believe thats why we fight, we both work. He has been very cold and disrespectful lately, and before the baby gets big enough to understand this I want to put a stop to it, I love him very much. There are no Infidelity Issues. Anyone have a positive experience from counseling, we start next week and need to know what to expect.

I, personally, have never been. But I know numerous couples who have, and the only ones that it did not work for were the ones that did not put in the effort and refused to do anything the therapist suggested. In cases like that, they were bound for divorce anyway. Everyone else it has helped a lot! Marriage counselors help you identify the REAL problems in your marriage, and help you find constructive solutions and strategies for dealing with those problems. So you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! Good luck!

p.s. If one counselor does not work out for you, I urge you to try another. They are not all the same.
