What does the Bible really say about masturbation?
In the Story of Onan (Genesis 38:6-10), god ordered Onan to impregnate his brother’s widow wife with his own seed so his brother’s lineage would continue. Onan refused by spilling his seed on the ground instead of impregnating someone who was not his wife. For his insolence, god executed Onan.
QUESTION:
By what tortured logic do Christians interpret this passage as a prohibition against masturbation? God wasn’t upset over the mere fact that Onan spilled his seed. God was furious that Onan refused to impregnate his brother’s widow wife. Onan was angry that he would not get credit for the continued lineage. Talk about twisted stories and sexual infidelity! Please help us understand your logic.
Christianity just can’t come to terms with the body from the neck down – natural desires = sin, so masturbationislustandlustissin and all the rest of the cant. Just ignore it.

Oh but they won’t bloody go away, will they? How about this drivel? ”However, the primary purpose of sex is not pleasure, but rather reproduction.” In the western world this is no longer true – we do NOT need more reproduction, but there is no reason to deny pleasure.
”God does not outlaw sex before marriage to rob us of pleasure, but to protect us from unwanted pregnancies and children born to parents who do not want them or are not prepared for them.” What does this have to do with God? These are purely practical measures human beings put in place because they have seen from experience what happens if you have unprotected sex. We need better sex education, not Christians blathering about sin.
