Moving on after divorce?
Hi.
I’m in the process of divorcing the woman I have been married to for the past 7 years.
Been separated over 8 months.
We have a 6 1/2 year old son we both love dearly.
She’s 38 – I’m 42.
My question is how do I move on after divorce – considering that I thought I would be spending the rest of my life with my s-2-b-ex-w.
The divorce came about of mix of her infidelity, financial difficulties and poor communication later on.
I had tried to be a good husband to her – but I guess it wasn’t good enough.
Never cheated on her – never was verbally or physically abusive – did more than my fair share of the housework/helping to raise our son – showed her as much affection as possible – didn’t try to control her ( allowed her to go out with her girlfriend when she wanted ) and allowed her control of all the finances.
In hindsight, I realize now I allowed her too much freedom . I made other mistakes but I never expected to end up being divorced.

You move on one day at a time.
If you’re as good a guy as you say, you won’t have any problem finding a wonderful woman. Just be sure this time BEFORE you marry her. There’s nothing wrong with dating for quite awhile. And you want someone who can get along well with your son.
