Tuesday, August 25th, 2009How do I contact Microsoft to get a copy MSN conversation logs to use against someone in court?
I don’t really want to go into details but I know I’ll have to get a lawyer to do this, I just know that the logs for their Windows Live account is the best evidence against them and an actual proof of their infidelity. PLEASE, IF YOU DON’T KNOW THE LEGAL ANSWER TO THIS OR KNOW THE ANSWER AT ALL, DON’T WASTE YOURS AND MY TIME.

You’re not going to be able to get access to those files, because doing so would be in violation of personal property. Its more or less along the same lines as opening someone else’s mail. You can only use electronic evidence if it’s your own readily available resource, or, you would have to get some type of warrant. Needless to say, it would have to be a very pervasive warrant, one that would take a very long time to pass, IF it was even plausible, which is an extremely big if.
So, besides a warrant, the only other way to get those files is if the individual would willingly give them to you, since the defendent is protected against self-incrimination. It is a much bigger issue than simply going to microsoft and “asking” for someone else’s personal files.
